I went ahead and sent an email to Weathertech sales to call out the issue. It's a bit surprising to me that the template for the cargo mat is based on the package with the upgraded sound system, and that they don't provide an option for the base sound system. If it was a mm or two, I wouldn't think twice, but this is a pretty large gap for a "premium" mat like the Weathertech's.
I am a long time Weathertech customer and I currently have 3 sets of the digifit floor liners. I have, however, been somewhat disappointed in their trunk/cargo area offerings recently. On my 2013 Infiniti G37 they sold me one that was somewhat universal for those sedans. I does not fix exactly the way I had hoped (sort of like the way the one fits in the GX). I tried to buy a trunk mat for my son's 2014 Honda Civic but it did not have allowances for the cargo net so I sent it back and got the Honda one, which did (although it looks like it could have be made by Weathertech). For our new GX, I chose heavy Lexus one because it was the only one that made any allowances for the 3rd seat. it is in two parts and can be partially removed if the seat is up, but leaves some covering for the very rear of the cargo area. The floor liners fit great in all three cars, but Weathertech does not make a third row floor liner for the GX like we had for the third row of our Honda Odyssey.
So a full week has passed, and Weathertech hasn't bothered to send me any follow up. I'm losing a bit of my blind faith in the company at this point. They have good branding/marketing, and my past experience with their quality has been good, but I'm not too fond of their customer experience thus far. As a comparative data point, I reached out to Thule this week on another matter, and I had a response from them within 24 hours. Two inquiries yesterday to Toyota dealers in Australia were responded equally within 24 hours.
I consider Weathertech a "premium" product in its space, and as such they should take the extra effort to be responsive to their customers. My opinion...
After some research, I went with Husky and have been super happy. I find them less slick than weathertech and the fit is great.
Have you found anything that goes over the second row when folded down?
I had a Husky in my old MDX, and once in a 4Runner. It's a good product too, but usually not as "tight" a fit as the Weathertech (my current situation excluded).
I've never seen any "custom fit" rubber cargo mats that extend fully across both 2nd and 3rd row seats when folded.
I'm looking for a 3 piece cargo mat that will allow for one seat to be up while the other seat is folded down. Are there any products that accommodate one seat up and one seat down?

I’ve checked alien, but I’m looking for something that will work in the snow. I’ve seen a 3 piece before online or on this forum somewhere but can’t find the link anymore.
