Guys, hello from Russia!

I have Lexus Gx 460 2011 and paint thickness is about 230-250 micron (µm) or 10 mils on all surfaces, is it ok? I can not find any information, help please

Are you concerned it might be salvage? I know little of paint but from some quick Google searches that seems about twice the thickness of factory paint

 

What tool is used to measure this on all surfaces?

 

I'm sure that car is not repaired and it is fully covered with factory paint. Lexus dealer and an other auto service mechanic say it is possible, but i don't how to prove this future buyer. The last one had thought that car was painted and repaired and refused a deal.....

 

Unfortunately i don't know tools name, guess it was standard thickness measuring tool. Thickness was measured twice by different equipments and values were the same

 

I would appreciate if someone who has the same white gx 2011 will measure paint thickness

 

The white GX is a layered paint so assuming this is why.

 

Usually a paint thickness gauge is used. Professional or pro-sumer auto detailers have one of these on hand. Quick amazon link for reference. They used to be a lot more $$$ when they were popular on the detailing forums.

 

I have a white '16 gx. im measuring at 4.9mil-5.4mil all around. Its not your year but might give you better reference since no one has responded with information.

 

Most pearls are 3 stage meaning base, pearl then clear. So yes pearls would technically be thicker than say base and clear and def thicker than say single stage enamel
