what lifting points are you planning to use? the side frame rails front and rear or the rear axle and side rails for the front? I ask because the jack stand above are narrower than the side frame rail to hug them
While this can be argued either way ... if you were to place the jack stands under the frame, the suspension would be fully extended for the duration of storage. My logic is that the suspension was designed to be compressed by the weight of the vehicle when at rest ... so placing the jack stands under the frame would not be my preference.
So if you were to put the jack stands under the rear axle ... just under the spring perch(es) ... the rear suspension would be compressed no different than if the tires were on the ground. To do the same for the front-end would require finding a proper place to engage the jack stands on the lower control arms. I have never done this ... or looked for a suitable location. I am sure there are many opinions out there ...
The flat stoppers didn't work as advertised on the GX, even with the special order made specifically for the GX tire size. Still had flat spots, but eventually went away.
I agree with the suspension, but just looking for the best option for a 6 month lay-up !!!
Could.always Jack up the front using the side frame rails, then pull the wheels off (like you're changing the tires), then use 2 bottle Jack's to compress the front suspension by pushing the LCAs upwards... you'd need 4 Jack stands (2 for rear axle, 2 for front side frame rails) and 2 bottle Jacks (to push the the front LCA upward) for this method.
