NX or RX
Hello guys, I need help making a decision on what to buy for my daughter (used). Maybe someone has one beside the GX. We have an 04 GxX and 16 GX. She need a 4x4.
thanks in advance

I bought my daughter an RX. Its the only car she has maintained. I wanted her to have a reliable car that had some girth to it. We live in Central Texas where most people drive large SUVs. She's had the car for 4 years, it has been very reliable.
I dont believe either are true 4wd vehicles but AWD.
if ya drive to the city daily, smaller is better.
both are great options. So is rav4 , Honda passport and the buicks cuvs are also remarkably quiet and surprisingly reliable and much less expensive.

I’m in agreement with @nuclearn8. If you’re in or near the city a lot a smaller vehicle will be easier to navigate.
As much as I like the Lexus lineup, if it came down to the NX, I would highly consider the new RAV4 instead.

I would argue any forced induction engine will require more maintenance / less long term longevity vs naturally aspirated. Carbon issues from direct injection and turbos needing to be rebuilt among other things. I believe all the NX's are turbos.
... yep, the marketers have the term 4x4 so convoluted that it no longer has any meaning to the average consumer. This calculated confusion started when "Cute Utes" were represented as SUV's. So the moral of this sad story of marketing spin ... do not assume that the term 4 Wheel Drive means anything ... and that an AWD vehicle will perform at the level as the GX drivetrain.

Many have argued that the NX is a Toyota RAV4 that has been "Lexified" ... with the RAV4 not having the same restricted interior space and low roof line ... at a lower purchase price.

Which ever you choose, let your daughter be the one to pick it out. Sure, explain to her the differences and the good and bad aspects of each, but let her tell you which one she wants. Oh, and choose CPO if possible, nothing to worry about and two years of included service (especially important if she lives outside your household or you don't change the oil yourself).
