True, it may not work if you're on a lease/loan or only have 1 car. It probably won't work for some but I have multiple cars under my policy so I could take one off for extended of time. I did that to my minivan a couple years back because we won't be using for about 6 months and it saved some money.

Beside, depends on your driving records and other bundled property insurance such as house, not sure there is enough saving to justify other impacts. Just my two cents.

True. Some insurance company also offer “storage” option if the car will not be driven for extended period.

They might require your insurance to cover the rental, I doubt they are going to take rental insurance out for you.

I did talk to the dealer yesterday and they expect parts to be coming in by the end of the month. Since I have a road trip scheduled for start of July I did ask them to put me early on the list or arrange a rental. They said call back by the 20th
to figure out a schedule. I don't mind driving local but don't want to go out of state.

Your own auto insurance policy will cover the rental.

I think you'll see the same soon from Nissan, Subie and Mazda.

I searched by vin for my 2015 GX premium, there is no fuel pump recall mentioned at all.

Is recall for each and every GX for 2015 model year or just a subset of 2015? Thanks

I had a hope to get a free fuel pump out of recall

My 2015 GX is part of the recall. No letter yet but I checked the Toyota site with my VIN.

I need to call the dealer and see what they say about a rental.

You should, not good for vehicles to sit for long periods of without driving them a bit. Once a week is my rule.

Hi All,

I have had my 2015 GS350 F-sport for about a month now. Purchased it L/certified in Florida. Long story, but I bought the car with an open recall but was told all recalls were repaired prior to finalizing the deal. Fought with the dealership to keep my car in my garage instead of on their unsecured lot. As of today, 6/21, I've been driving a 2019/20 UX hybrid (yuck) and have put almost 1k miles on it. The dealership has not received any parts yet and I am hoping it's repaired in the next week or so. Part of me regrets buying the car, but it's everything I wanted and there's no others on the market that are used and fully loaded like mine.

Has anyone else heard any new updates from their dealers?

- Phillip
