I've been impressed with the safety features on my wife's 2020 300 NX. My 2007 4Runner has really none of those. The new 4Runner is not attractive to me for several reasons (lack of power, no V8 and others). So along comes a 2017 GX with all the features I would like to have, 51k miles for $41,000. OTD price.
4Runner is solid, 160k miles built like a Swiss watch.
Your opinion valued and appreciated.
Thanks

Just returned from the Lexus dealer. Maybe the newer GX is more ergonomically appointed. This 2016 would have not work for me. Screen is down and to the right controls feel like they are down and forces me to take my eyes off the road. Lovely vehicle but the NX's translation of all controls and screen to basically eye level is what I was hoping to find.
Wife and dealer rep were surprised that I didn't care for it....I was disappointed.

I'm looking at keeping the 4Runner. I really am comfortable with my "beast". Researching 2016 Genesis for a new DD. Wife used to have a 2009. the 3.8V6 AWD has all the safety items I want and the CPO warranty looks solid.
Don't get me wrong. If my wife had the choice she would have purchased the GX in a heartbeat. It's a beautiful vehicle.

You were thinking of replacing your 4R with a GX for a DD? The ergonomics of the GX are worse than the 4R?
Let your wife buy the GX and you take her NX.

It's an amazing car really. The V8, the cavernous back (both 2nd and auto 3rd row seats go flat), the comfort. It came down to the ergonomics for me. I had to look down and to the side for the major controls and the screen and there in lay the rub. Here's the princess in the flesh.

The dealer is trying to figure out why he's getting all these hits on this car from all over the country.
That driver's seat looks awfully worn.
BS fees seem to be $150, so not bad
I think there is only one day a year it isn't raining there - and that day it is snowing.....

I actually think the driver's seat is not that bad. Especially on a 2016. The one I've seen especially in lighter colors are much worse, with jean stains.

This forum is all over the board on what a good price is.. Ive had my GX now for almost 3 full months now. I think I paid fair market for mine. Don't think I got a great deal, don't think I paid too much. one owner private party luxury trim. 2014 with 28,930 miles.... 33.7k. I don't think the one linked in this thread is worth 4100 more for being 2 yrs newer with almost 20k more miles. Id think 34-35k would be the very top Id be willing to pay for that one

In my local market, the one linked here would be around $40k. Yes. Now I’d agree thats high.

Its worth more because it has the CPO warranty and whatever they did (if any) to make it “certified”. And of course when you buy private, its certainly cheaper than buy retail from a dealership.
