Default GX460 Reverse camera issue

Hello,

The reverse camera on my 2014 GX460 base stopped working. When I select reverse the touch screen stays as it is, it's almost as though I don't have a camera anymore.

The other touch screen functions are working, reverse lights OK, mirrors change angle in reverse OK

I had a look at the fuses but couldn't see any obviously gone. After starting the car I obviously reset the entertainment unit as it had to load the software again but there was no change.

Does anyone have any ideas or know the fuse to check?

Thanks

What did you do before the camera stopped working? What was your last mod or maintenance?

The car was serviced at a Lexus dealer earlier in the week, apart from that nothing has been done. The camera is the stock original camera, the head unit for the entertainment system was replaced by Lexus 6 months ago.

It seemed that display didn’t receive the reverse trigger signal. I am traveling and didn’t have the information that I have on which pin carries reverse trigger signal. I had posted on other related topics here. You may need to take the display out and see if you have a lose connection. If you get a blank screen when shift in reverse, that would be camera signal issue, if the screen stays whatever it is on, then it will be trigger signal issue.

Thank you. The display does not change when reverse is selected, so it probably is the trigger signal itself. The mirrors move and the reverse lights work so as you say probably on the display unit or various posts talk about a camera ECU also.

I will look for simplest thing first, the test (measure) the reverse signal from the connect behind display. If I remember correctly, the signal is driven from the "Driver Support Switch ECU" the very same one many of us here had replaced to gain multi-terrain select functions. In worst case if that is what broken with reverse camera signal, you would have the opportunity to replace it with the MTS function, or I am sure many of us will be more than willing to sell you the original one that we have replaced.
