Hey guys,
I bought a used 2010 GX 460 a while ago and discovered the DVD player was not working.
It it is a premium model with ML system and OEM TVs in the headrests in the back. Whenever I put in a CD or a DVD into the changer it just spits it back out. You guys tried to help me with it before resetting the battery etc... nothing helps and it just spits the cd/DVD back out.
I was was thinking of getting that part from eBay or a junk yard. but Lexus won't give me a part number and says it's the entire radio that needs to be replaced. I saw videos on YouTube that seem to show the DVD changer can be speedster out from the radio.
Can someone help me get the part number for that I get the correct DVD player/changer for my car? I'm going to try to install the replacement myself. Lexus IS charging me about $1,000 for the radio not including the installation. Thanks so much!
I believe the easiest way to find the part numbers is to open the unit and look for it there since the dealer is not being any help in this case. Btw I know a company they fix these items through their eBay advertising. You should check them out and see what they have to say.
Thank you, I'll give them a call tomorrow see what they say. thanks

Thanks Acrad! I saw that one on eBay before but I'm not sure if that's the DVD player or just a CD changer? So I wasn't sure if that's the correct part that I need... I would have bought that unit but it looks pretty banged up

I just checked their yelp reviews they are absolutely horrible. Every single one! Dallasguy have you used them before?

I used one of these companies to repair nav screen on my Is250 like 5 years ago and I don't remember the name exactly. Search for repair
Service on eBay and contact the one with better reviews.
I am pretty sure all ML units in GX are changers capable of reading DVDs. I don't have rear video screen option but I can still play DVD movies on nav screen. Mine is also a changer. The load button probably indicates it more than anything.
There are many other improvements on the GX460 over the GX470 that I think worth the jump besides the ML systems. However, but if it's the sound system that you mostly care about there are ways to upgrade speakers to make them sound much better on both the 460 and 470.
I haven't heard the sound in the 470 but the 460 sounds pretty good for most the 80's music I'm listening to LOL.
You can get the luxury package and get the ml audio in 460. The stock system in the gx is also very nice.

I maybe misunderstanding your first 2 points Acrad but I do have Bluetooth streaming and iPhone Bluetooth with no port needed. I haven't used this since I first tried it when I bought the truck though. Perhaps you are referring to the 470 ML for these options? I am not familiar with the 470.
