Default Powder coating wheels?

Anyone here have any insight on pros and cons of powder coating the premium stock wheels on a '15 GX? Pictures would be appreciated as well

We powder coat wheels all the time.

The pro would be you get a unique look. The only con I would see is that you would want to go back to the original finish one day.

I appreciate the response. What’s a fair price to pay per wheel for a “standard” color like a black or grey?

You can find prices across the board depending on quality but you should expect somewhere around $650-1200 (full set). Keep in mind the cost of labor is included in the price.

Much information out there ... and misinformation ... with resulting controversy. This link does a good job framing the question ...

If you do pull the trigger, it is clearly important that you use an experienced powder-coating operation ... specifically with aluminum wheels.

When I priced it out to powder coat, it was cheaper to go with new rims, so went with 17” with better availability of tires

Yeah I actually don’t mind the look of the wheels on my Premium , just wanted something a little darker. If it’s going to cost $600+ I might as well just get new wheels and sell mine to help offset the cost

Really happy how mine turned out. It was 700ish and that included a ceramic coating.

That's exactly the look I'm going for on my black GX. What does the ceramic coating do?

We had ours powder coated about a week after purchase. Ours is also a 2105 we purchased pre-owned.

Looks awesome. If I’d gotten the Base wheels I would’ve switched them out but I actually really like the upgraded wheels and they look even better in black

Adds a layer of protection and makes them easier to clean.
