Default Front bumper bull guard

Gotta start with the fact that i really really don't want to put one on my car, however im considering to get front bumper guard if it fits GX nicely and doesn't ruin the look by a much. The reason why im considering one is because about two and a half weeks ago i got into a hit and run over night. My GX was parked outside and some asshat reversed like full speed into me while trying to fit into a parking spot infant of my car, no note whatsoever. Two weeks later and $5k in damage i got my car back today. I had to replace bumper, grill, fender and one headlight. Thanks to dash cam i didnt have to pay anything except for my deductible on the insurance. Now im thinking about the bumper guard just for preventative reasons, so if any of you have some good looking ones please show/recommend if its not too difficult. Thanks in advance.

P.S. How does one adjust level of the headlight, the new headlight that was put in is slightly lower than there other one that i have and when driving outside of the city you can see the difference. I know theres a screw that adjusts it but im not 100% what it looks like. TIA

Search for damage multiplier, there's a ton of info on brush / bull guards on other forums.

Short version: It's not going to help you out in this circumstance, and in most cases create more damage to the hood, fenders, and radiator. I'd replace with a full front bumper with the money from the insurance during the first instance.

Headlight adjustment should be in the manual, but there are two bolts that adjust the level if you remove the plastic cover

https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publication...148/aiming.cfm

The SAE specifies that if the optical center of the headlamp, or optical center height (OCH), is less than 90 cm (36 inches) above the roadway surface, then the reference point should be at the same height as the optical center. If the optical center is more than 90 cm (36 inches) above the roadway surface, the reference point should be 5 cm (2 inches) below the headlamp optical center. These reference points were adjusted for the greater alignment distance.

If you have parking sensors then don't bother as any "guard" renders them usueless. And don't believe the manufacturer when they say "It won't interfere" It does and I sent mine back. Unless of course you don't really care about parking sensors - if you don't care then have at it!
