No issues with the stock ones so far but will try these out next time. I did a pad slap on mine last year.
I've had good luck with Centric in other applications

Can you point me to what specific ones I should get? Not a mechanic, but saw a youtube video and this does not look too difficult to do to save some money.

The Akebono I used is ACT976 for Front and ACT606 for rear

We recently had a brake job done at NTB. The GX was in for a balance/rotation and they alerted me to the front brakes. I normally do these jobs myself, but we were leaving for a long trip (taking the GX) so I let them do it. It was ~$450 for front pads and new rotors. The rear brakes were fine.
To me, your Dealer quote seem VERY high since they are not replacing the rotors.
BTW, the NTB rotors now have rust on the rotor "hats" and looks like crap. The wife doesn't notice it (it is her ride) but I will be replacing the rotors myself in the not-too-distant future. I am not knocking NTB, just a reminder that there are differences in the quality of work and the parts used.

maybe on some areas one of those rust restorers/converters, the kind that turn black would be good enough. loctite makes a good one.
would have to be careful not to get on the actual braking surface
its an acid that converts the rust into a protective coating.

From my (albeit limited) experience with BBK, I'd opine that most don't bring any advantage in day to day driving, but will add noise. I'd suggest getting a different set of pads and go from there. The slotted/drilled rotors bring no benefit unless you on the track.
