Default GX vs LS 2012

Just curious if anyone has both the gx and the ls. I want to know if the ride is as soft as the ls and if the car is as quiet as the ls. I can’t imagine the seats on the gx is as good but just how much worse are they?

Answer is NO to both of your questions. More so, this is not even an apple to apple comparison. GX is body on frame vehicle and LS is a unibody car, so other than Lexus built quality, there is not really anything to compare with. Before lead yourself down to the wrong path, you really need to set your mind to whether you want to have a true SUV or a car (or car based cross over).

Gx makes sense from what I want it to do, but the car is very difficult for my wife to drive due to the way it is shaped. You can look at it this way. In my personal comparison, I think the gx wins in 7 of 10, but the ls wins 3 of 10 with two in the top category

From my brief test drive of the GX and drive an LS quite often, the GX seems quieter. As far as ride is concerned, it depends on the road itself. Small to medium bumps, I would imagine the LS is smoother. But big bumps the GX will be able to better absorb it, simply due to its higher sidewall tires and body on frame.

Default LS460 any day

I actually have both (a 2010 LS 460 (with normal suspension) and a 2017 GX 460 Luxury with air suspension).

The LS has a much smoother ride (a little quieter but the GX is very quiet already) - the body movements are better controlled on the LS as well - the GX is very nice for what it is (a body on frame truck) but it still rides like a truck with a big solid rear axle.

Of course, the LS can't offroad so it's a matter of priorities...

I ended up skipping on both as neither car was the perfect fit for me and I am spoiled by newer cars with their technology. I did find a really good price on the GX, but I just had a tough time buying it as the thought of spending so much money on a used car scared me. It didn't help the way my wife drove it, she was either going to either something or roll it over.
