Which one you looking for? The smaller one has a lower towing capacity of 5K IIRC

Subjectively I think the small one will but the larger one won't for full capacity.

The larger one will not clear the spare tire. Dale,I suggest you stop fighting this over a couple hundred dollars and the liability involved for using the wrong hitch with the heavy commercial trailer you want to tow. For all the time you are investing in trying to use a 4Runner hitch, you could have installed the OEM Lexus one already. LexusPartsNow has the OEM one for $255.49.

So there is a difference? The 4Runner one will not fit, that's all I have been trying to find out. I know a lot of aftermarket parts are interchangeable between GX and 4Runner. I just figured if I could get a Curt that is rated for my intensions for $150.00 like the one I shared above I would do so.
So the over priced Lexus part it is then.
Thank you

That heavy commercial trailer will spend most of it's time lent out to friends and family, it will spend very little time behind my GX with lighter cargo such as mulch and fire wood
and only a few miles at s time. Dump trailer is cheaper to maintain that a SuperduSup.

Aren't most of the 4R's Class III hitches since stock tow rating is 5K lbs?

The OEM 460 one is a Class IV

PN: PT228-60140 or PT228-60100

I'd still want the overkill of the Class IV even if vehicle isn't capable of fully using the capacity. Just my opinion.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

When I got the OEM hitch, it was about $280 shipped from discount parts monster. It takes a lot longer to install, but I’d rather have the full capability that it was designed for.

Does anyone know the difference between PT228-60140 and PT228-60100? This is what I see:
PT228-60140 fits 2010-2020
PT228-60100 fir 2010-2013

Are the dimensional difference? Will PT228-60100 fir 2014-2020 as well?

if memory serves me right, the difference was for the trailer wiring bracket due to the bumper changes. The 140 part# has the wiring harness hang lower.

Just for a price point reference. I got mine from parts.com for $280 back in 2016.
