What does the RSCA button really do?

 

To disable the side curtain air bags to prevent accidentally deploy during off-road driving when vehicle experiences heavy body rolls. To disable it, press and hold the button for 5 seconds.

 

Got it, luckily Im not big on off roading 😁

 

Love to see the video footage that prompted the history of that feature......

 

I think this button went away in 2014 models?

Starting 2014 model, the side curtain airbag is different then previous years. Now it included "impact" detection instead just simple "roll" detection. Which means unless you roll over and hit the ground, it won't accidentally deployed.
