Default missing electric cooling fan or was it optional?

Do some GX460’s not come with an auxiliary pusher cooling fan in front of the condenser on the passenger side?

I noticed ours (2012 base) doesn’t have one and I am confused.

Thanks,
Ryan

Was that part of towing option for transmission cooling? Just a guess. My '14 Luxury has it.

Thanks Gents!

I am not seeing a transmission cooler on there either, but, it has the heavy class IV trailer hitch installed.....

I wonder, if it didn't come with a fan, do I have to get Techstream software to turn the fan on?

I have been looking at Techstream stuff, but I can't figure out which one to buy; I have a Panasonic Toughbook running Windows XP for programming my motec ECU (for a 455 powered '67 Cutlass) already, so this would be a perfect fit for that.....

Who has the best cable and where do you get the software from? I really need Techstream, as I have a 2006 Land Cruiser as well that I could use it on also.

Thanks again!

I bought mine when I was traveling in China. The software come with the cable. There are many offers on eBay and Amazon, they are all come from same or similar suppliers from China.

Transmission cooler is inside the driver side of radiator. You will see the AT lines going in on that side. That being said an auxiliary air cooled unit is available on the Canadian executive models.

On TS... Make sure it is a 2.0.4 cable that you purchase. The K line support for live data is important for some reason. I wasn't able to get live engine data with a 1.x firmware on cable.

One thing I always wanted to see is AT temp. Standard ODB software via Bluetooth or Wifi doesn’t show so I purchased the extra diagnostic for ODB Fusion app and AT is there along with a few other.

Regarding Techstream, you should be fine installing it on XP. I spent a few hours yesterday trying to get it work on a Dell D420 laptop with Win7 Pro 32-bit. It was a pain. It connected but the left menu only had TIS and Data List and missing the Utility and others. I finally figured it out and it worked now.

I'm still searching for the ATF Thermal Degradation Estimate. This might be a data item that is only available on '14+
