If you are looking for a compact but well built little shovel that you could even stow under the seat I am impressed with this cheap $14.95 model. I bought 4 more for other uses. Seems to be quite well built for the price and doesn't take up any room when folded up. I plan to keep one under the rear seat of GX.
You have me beat on price... at $5 I'd have 10 of them :-)
LOL, I love browsing the automotive section at Ross or Marshal. You can pick up stuffs for really cheap like Wax or leather cleaner and microfiber cloth.
What are you guys digging for . I understand for off road but 5 and I would buy 10.....
I brought it with me on a couple of ski trips and my last camping trip but never used it LOL...I hope I'd never used it hahaa...but you never know when number 1 priority is number 2 in the middle of nowhere.
I couldnt find a good shovel for wintertime that can be broken down but still reach all the way to the diffs without getting on the ground. So I decided to make one with only parts I already had laying around.
I had a shovel with a broken handle, some pvc pipe, small bolts and nuts. I ended up with this. and theres almost zero play between the white pipes which could be eliminated with a piece of thin tape on the ends. at the head end, theres no play at all. It could be that this 7 foot shovel is actually sturdier than my all steel lifetime shovels. and lighter. and more reach. and less expensive.
I don’t know about the durability with that? With the last few bodies I had to bury I needed a durable fulll sized shovel. The mini shovel became exhausting to use
