Thanks!

Did you just reuse the shims from the old pads? or did these come with new ones?

Amazon has the best price as usual if you don't want to wait and don't mind the tax penalty.

I gave it a good bath and dressed the shoes. Does it count?

Thanks for the tip. It bugs me to see other GX with the chrome tip This is certainly a bad save on Lexus part.

The Hawk pads come with a smaller shim glued on to the back of the pads. The only thing I transferred over from the old pads were the wear tabs on the rear pads, front pads have an integrated tab. I did save the factory shims just in case however. Second day of driving so far, about 50 miles. No noise and a lot better stopping power.

On a side note, picked up some TRD Pro SEMA wheels in gunmetal. Gonna wait for a KO2 sale and ditch the no fun Latitude Tour.

I installed the Curt hitch, 20 minutes job, then used it to carry some trees.

Not sure if it was a great deal for crossbars but $150 ones had free shipping. It seemed to be the cheapest I could find. Vendor had 23 for sale.
You mentioned that your is Syppo which is not OEM, how do you like them so far? Pretty sturdy?

They seem quite sturdy to me. I'm gonna use them this next weekend when I put my Yakima basket up on top and then go for a 150 mile run with small 60lb load.

I've been using these carriers for over 20 years. Really convenient. Also a good spot to place the garbage when I am coming back from my cabin. I think one of mine is just like that one. Did you pick that one up at HF?

I also have one of these Curt models I regularly use as well.

Not the lightest model but it can take a 500lb load as well. I think GX 460 has a 500lb tongue capacity as well. This unit can also fold upward if you desire. You do have to put up with Park Assist beeping at you when backing up.

Was that with trailer light install or no? I am looking at the Lexus one and it is $310 installed by the dealer with light accessory.

If you do get trailer light piece installed make sure they give you the harness that is for trailer brake controller. Even if you don't use...you paid for it and next owner may appreciate having it. This piece plugs somewhere under dash. I haven't tracked plug location down yet. My used GX had the harness still in back in back when I bought it.

Yes, I bought the cargo carrier about 10+ years ago at HF, still holding well. Rated 500 pounds BUT I wouldn't trust that, 200 lbs maybe...It's a CURT hitch model 13043 class 3, rates 5000 lbs and a Lexus hitch cover part# 00228-60966. All fit perfectly.

All GX460 come with 7-pin and 4-pin plug from factory. However, if you asked about the Trailer Brake Controller then No, I do not have that install.

If GX didn't come from factory with hitch are the plugs strapped up under the bumper somewhere and then finished off/terminated when hitch is installed?

What did you use to compress caliper pistons? Aside from the calipers that twist in to reset I normally just use C-Clamps.

Thought I saw a youtube video where guys was using one of
 these these
on a GX pad change.

I can't remember, but if you check the OEM hitch install instructions it will tell you. Been so long since I installed the hitch, but I think the wire harness with the trailer connector is actually just tucked up in the frame under the spare wheel.
