#Leveling kits
That being said, what are the options for a 1-2 inch lift? If that exists... I had a level kit on my Tundra (2 inch rear, 3 inch front).. had a great look.
There were a few people that have went with spacer lifts. Probably the most economical in terms of cost, but not the best in terms of performance. You could go with Bilstein 5100 or something similar that Toytec or OME makes.
Here are a few links that I've saved for my (hopeful) future build project that might help you.

Your best bet might be with the Bilstein 5100. They do have a different model, Bilstein 6112, but I haven't read up on that too much. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-ge...-released.html
The 5th gen 4Runner forum is busy with a bunch of daily posts. I wish the current GX had that kind of following, but the entry costs for this vehicle make it somewhat prohibitive. Hopefully it'll be busier in the next few years as the prices come down in the second and third hand market. Similar to current situation for the previous generation GX 470 (lifts, bumpers, sliders, armor, roof racks etc.)

If you choose to lift it to its full height you will need a 1.5" spacer for the rear.
www.metaltech4x4.com will have most parts for the gx. You can also call them. They are one of the only companies making aftermarket parts for the gx.
I put mine on the second notch from the bottom, which is for 0.85". It netted me closer to a full inch. I had a slightly negative rake with that set up and then added the OME 10mm spacer to level it back out. I'm about to take it all out and put in Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pros, which are a full coilover up front. If you plan on wheeling your rig on Bilstein 5100's I wouldn't recommend going any higher than the second notch. The 5100's have a bad reputation of failing at higher notches when wheeling hard. Just google bilstein 5100 failure.

My local 4x4 shop said my best options were:
1. Daystar 2.5 front 1 rear
or
2. Ready Lift 3 front 2 rear
I decided to go with the ready lift 3/2. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust headlights down.
