Here's the website to insideline.com

For rear side view cameras, I've never heard of that one before! Which manufacturers have them?

i dont believe that. the gx does NOT have speed sensitive steering. The steering feels loose at all speeds. Show me the officical specs from lexus. They removed it from 2011? It was never on the gx to begin with

The steering should stiffen up at higher speeds and it doesnt.

I can no longer find the info on Lexus.ca; a report from the Globe and Mail (Canadian newspaper) however, does mention something about the steering. It says that the steering is speed sensitive, but it's linked to the engine speed, not vehicle speed. So I guess what they're saying is the steering will not stiffen up as the car gets faster, but it will loosen up when it's in a parking lot traveling at a slow speed.

Attached is a Product Information sheet from LEXUS for the 2011 GX and it states "Engine speed sensing power-assisted rack and pinion", which is variable assist steering.

I don't think that is what that means. When I read that it means that as the engine speed increases the power steering pump can maintain assist without increasing output. It is an energy saver, not a performance/handling feature.

Variable assist is usually a function of road speed, not engine speed.

Also I think the nav is extremely unintuitive. My Garmin is much more efficiently designed. Say I find an address and want to save it. With Garmin, it prompts you to add the name when you save. Done. With Lexus, you have to save. THEN go BACK and find the entry to add the name. But no, you don't pick the entry and edit the name, you have to say address book, THEN EDIT, THEN FIND THE NAME. So I keep picking the entry and then realize, duh, I have to go back and click edit. Completely unintuitive. And say I want to find something in my address book that starts with a letter near the end of the alphabet, I have to scroll . . . down. .. . the . . . .address book. . . till. . . the. . . . end. No way to search address book, just sort by date or name.

Who designs these things????

Finally, my dh ordered weather tech liners for me AT CHRISTMAS and I still don't have them.
If you think the Lexus GPS is unintuitive, try BMW's with the iDrive!

No Skid plate on transfer case.

should i go on? Just look at the technology on some german manufacturers for the future. Lexus has some catching up to do. It just blows my mind the stuff thats not on cars/suvs that should be.

Still i love the gx...

i thought you folks should know, As i mentioned above, lexus was way behind on tech features. now it seems that the new ES will have the RCTA ( my rear side monitoring system mentioned above) when backing out .... they are just catching up, but i am sure it will be included on future gx's...

The 2014 has outside temp display inbetween the main gauges.

And the steering feel is great. I would not describe it as "loose" at all. Quite progressive and natural, predictable.

Okay, I remember they added it at some point. It should have had it in 2010. They still don't show tire pressures on the 2014. They also don't have auto folding mirrors. All of this should have been on the 2014 model in my opinion.
