Your door actuators will probably fail randomly over the next 50k miles. Don't buy a new part, just get a refurb instead on ebay. You can go even cheaper and just get the motor on ebay for a few dollars - but then you gotta take apart the actuator and replace it yourself (may break the actuator in the process).
My favorite mod is the retro-fit OEM radar cruise control and pre-collision system. This is not easy though. My second favorite mod is the side step delete, then you can get the skirts from a Land Cruiser Prado instead. See below. Much better clearance.

2016 Premium GX 460
Blizzard Pearl with Sepia interior
Navigation and Mark Levinson
Park Assist/Blind Spot Monitoring
Purchased used with 49000 miles...about 34000. Had an 09 GX for about 5 years with no major issues other than regular service. One of the most reliable cars I've had.
I wanted to upgrade but wasn't ready for a "new" car investment. Found this in Baton Rouge and could not be happier. Such a great ride and great service from Lexus New Orleans.

Just bought(I down paid 10k) my folks a 39k mile cpo 2017 gx460 black on black prem for $33k and 3.9% fair deal IMO. I think even prem has plenty features vented seats and nav, eventough the infotainment looks from the 90's. my parents are 65 so it suites them well in simplicity and reliability.
warranty left till 2023 and free 2 year maintenance.
my parents are thrilled and good to see smiles on their faces midst this pandemic and disorder.
I personally am an Audi guy had 15 Q5, 17A6, and currently 19 Q7. I'll see how my parents GX fairs with the Q7.
bought some new mats for the GX, Lexus remote leather gloves, cargo organizer.
im from NYC and ill be browsing through the forum but if anyone has any info on what to look out for please let me know! thx!! stay healthy

Just Purchased a 2014 GX460 - Time For a Lift and Tires!
New member here, thanks for reading! Yes, I read through the FAQ before posting. Now that that's out of the way, here's my question!
I have a bone stock 2014 GX460 Premium. I'm planning on having a 2" Dobinsons lift installed with 33" Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. My question is this; would I need any supporting suspension components with a 2" lift and 33" tires? I want to do it right the first time. I've read that 2.5" and higher is where things get pricey and more complicated. I wanted to hear some opinions from you experts out there. Thanks!

2020 Atomic Silver with Riojo Red Ready for adventure
Howdy all. Excited to join, was expecting to join with a 2017 but couldn't pass up this deal on the riojo red interior and 20K less miles.
1. Year and package
2020. Premium package, pre-owned certified, 6200 miles at acquisition.
3. Color or the exterior and interior
Atomic Silver with Rioja Red interior.
2. Navigation or no navigation / Mark Levinson
Nav, no ML, captains chair second row.
4. Option Packages or options (RSES, park assist, etc)
captains chair second row, tow hitch, premium.
Just made an album. Was planning on a 2017 and throw some TRD wheels and tires on it and get ready for mountains but couldn't shake the desire for the red interior. Very pleased with the choice so far. Originally had heart set on 4Runner TRD with XP Predator package but the GX was a much better value by the time you found a 4Runner 4x4 of any type with leather and moonroof.
Questions I'd love answers to:
I did a lot of homework, I knew this lacked some typical luxury appointments but no "quick touch blinker" function? Seriously? Does that happen to be something that just needs to be programmed by dealer service?
Roof rail options suck. I've got some Thule aero bars, super bummed at the lack of decent options that do not require removal of the factory rails. I do love the full racks by gamiviti and victory where rails not needed but for now, if anyone has a rail solution, that would be welcomed. Factory rails look weak. Prefer something a bit more rugged in function and looks. Kayak fish a lot, need a good system.
Would love to know about rear cargo door shade solutions, if any. I get barn door functionality for storage but get more use out of shade, so would be nice for something that is quick to throw on for shade when relaxing after adventures.

Most people just buy a 4 pole canopy and put that over the rear door opening for shade with the barn door open. Most flexible option and it doesnt create wind noise or decrease gas mileage by being permanently installed to the roof.
Really sharp the color combo!

Traines: What about these crossbars? I haven't heard of anyone putting them on yet though
http://lfdoffroad.com/catalog/lexus/...crossbar-gx460
You could hang one of the smaller ARB awning off the rear
I have the one above... but also have an Ironman one I haven't mounted yet.
I used these mounts for OEM bars and they work fine

After shopping CarMax for a year, I finally lucked into the exact vehicle I’ve been searching for.
Friday I completed the purchase of this 2017 GX 460 Luxury
Color: Nightfall Mica with Ecru interior
Packages: Sport Design, Driver’s Support
36,600 miles for $35,998
It’s a one owner Florida vehicle with clean history and service records. CarMax was not listing it as a Luxury package and I suspect they missed what they had since the price was lower than other GX Premium Sport Designs I have seen them list with higher mileage and minor accident history.
When I saw it I clicked "Transfer" before I got done looking at all the photos.
I absolutely love it.

Picked this up for the Mrs yesterday. Replaces her 17 rx350. She is very very happy!
I wanted the sport pkg but having the 2nd row as a bench was much more practical for our 6 month old son. It’s a lease so we get to debate 2nd row captain chairs again in 3 years.
