OEM Crossbar Roof Rack Utility Clamps
One of the guys on GXOR makes these. I ordered 4 of them. They can mount the OEM bars. Might even consider one of the smaller awnings that would work with this. I've seen a few.

$30/each when you buy 4

I saw he posted a pic with awning adaptor but you need to use all 4 clamps to mount them.
Which awning are you getting? Do you know if their mounts are pretty universal or each is different?

Not sure on the awning yet. I need to take some measurements of what length one I could utilize. Maybe something like a Rhino-Rack Sunseeker.

Great vendor!! He actually had a deal going on in another eBay ad that dropped the price to $30/each if you bought 4. I didn't buy through that ad but he refunded me the difference this morning. I wasn't aware of other deal and saw the Paypal refund this morning. I posted this on GXOR as well but these will be great for carrying one offs I take from time to time like a shovel, jack, pole saws or even my brush cutter.

These are nice. Padded inside too so shouldn't damage the OEM crossbars.

Acrad,
Can you help explain the benefits of these clamps? What is it, how would someone use it to expand their crossbar usefulness, why would we need it?
Im trying to understand these clamps and figuring out a reason why I need to buy this. Thanks

They should give you some versatility in mounting some things on OEM racks without committing to purchasing an entire roof rack. I have a Yakima Load Warrior basket but don't usually keep it on. I'll probably just leave these mounts on permanently. One would like need to use two on each bar to mount say a lighter awning. There are times I take my brush-cutter places so this will give a nice solid mount point without having to install anything else.
You will need to purchase some extra hardware from hardware store to really use. I'll post what I have done when project is done. This was a pic from the seller when he was prototyping them. They can be used with the basket on as well.
I'm thinking one of these smaller awnings will work too.

Did you have a chance to mount an awning on it yet?
I'm debating to get an awning before the summer and thinking of this one from Yakima since it can be mounted to the OEM bars

Sorry..unfortunately not... I've been sidetracked trying to pan out the details of compatibility fit for new bumper (C4) and full skids (Budbuilt) before I put order in on those.

I ordered one of these awnings. We'll see how it fits with these mounts and OEM bars. I think it will be here Tuesday.

Got the awning today. I am still waiting for the ARB awning brackets that will attach to these crossbar utility clamps. I'll probably get those Thursday but I think I have room to take along and mount over the long weekend. This one is really meant for the rear but I plan to use on the side. It will be a good test case if nothing else.

This mounted up actually quite easy. The bolts to connect awning to ARB mounts came with the awning. I did have to pick up the short (4) Grade 5 -1/2 inch bolts with washers from Lowes to connect the ARB brackets to these crossbar mounts. I didn't tie down awning. Setup on these things are quite quick. It is a small awning but wife already told me to get one for the other side too.

I might play with the mounts to see how hard it would be to utilize the awning off the back as well. That would be a nice compliment to the table Kaon table on the rear door.
To take off car I can just remove the these two bolts from each mount with washers in the middle that just thread into the mount. They don't use a nut.
Awning only weights about 25 lbs.
