Default have a marker stuck on nav

Hi,

I was messing with my 2023 GX nav the other day; I don't use it much. Somehow I placed this marker(?) that I can't get rid of. Searched all over and don't really find anything. I may be calling it the wrong thing. I have cleared all of the favorites. Can anyone make a suggestion on how to remove this?

Thanks, gobo
(Hope this image is not too big.)

If you don't have an owner's manual I can check for you.

I have the manual that came with the car. Also downloaded several slightly different versions. I've not been able to find what the "marker" is. Maybe it's a "point of interest", but that does not seem to be what it is. Why I'm stuck.

Thanks for the offer.

The native Lexus Navigation system lets you "Mark" a location very simply, using the touch pad, you just press down and the pushpin logo will be placed. This can be useful if your intention is to return to a spot that does not have an established address. Found a great photo opportunity and wish to return at sundown? Press down and the spot will be marked. To remove the push pin icon (even if you are not at that place on earth), move the cursor with the touch pad to the mark and press down. The rarely used "double chevron" downward arrow icon is directing you to push the same double chevron hard key at the back / bottom of the touch pad. Now you have a menu that includes delete. Other uses here are to name the spot, ie. "photo opportunity".

Hi, Thanks so much for posting these instructions. I had stumbled onto this once but could not remember what steps I took to get there. You are so correct that the double chevron button is rarely used.

But... when I use this method I'm only offered two options -- Go and Save. This kinda makes me think it does not know this marker exists (in whatever database this system uses.) I don't even know what the underlying OS is. My MDX was windows embedded. Not that it matters... (I am a nerd.)
