I just picked up a used '22 GX and I want to install a dash cam.
On my last vehicle I had a rear camera for my rear view mirror and I really liked it. Great visibility. I'm thinking about installing something similar on the GX.
What I'd like to know is if anyone has installed a camera under the rear spoiler at the top of the back door?
I know from past experience that having the camera higher is much better and I don't want it low where road grime, etc., will block the camera.
I have a rearview dash cam installed. Not for replacing rear view mirror. I have it attached on inside top trim, then fish the wire through the loom into cabin along the top roof line against weather strip to the front. Pretty straight forward. You just need to remove the back door penal to do the wire.

I was wondering about running the wire for the camera along the top. Thanks for the tip!
This is fantastic! Thank you! I will use this as a reference.
One tip. I put my rear camera lens dead center in the rear of the truck....... If I did it again tomorrow, I would put it like 2 inches more toward the driver side. The rear wiper wipes that area better. I have a decent full view but just the edge of my video can have unwiped glass in it due to this centered placement and that little arc of window the wiper doesnt touch.
I purchased a FitcamX, but debating whether to return it for the Wolfbox G900 Pro. My main concern is with the homelink buttons on the 2023 rear view mirror, will they be annoying to reach after the mirror is on.
viofo a229 ultra is very good but a little more $.
you can also get the external rear camera. external has its pros/cons. or could connect one of each.
As a forum sponsor, I recommend our G900 series dash cams for those who are in need. 4K front cam, 2.5K rear cam, voice control, wifi download, parking mode, etc. are featured in all 3 models below:
By using the Wolfbox hardwire kit, the parking mode and battery protection can be enabled, so your car is safeguarded and the battery won't be drained.
I have a Pormido D50 with 3 cameras, Front, Rear and Room. I installed the rear under the bumper, the camera is very sturdy construction, i put a 3M VHB and put a flex tape over it as a safety net and so far so good, no problems at all, tested under rain, camera lens is always clean and no problems at all.
