Just picked up a used 2013 and my wife is threatening to leave me - and take the GS. Anyway, the radio didn't work and after looking under the passenger seat - voila! someone removed the amp. Anyone know a source for an economical replacement please?

 

Which audio system do you have? Without your VIN I can't say exactly what your options may be but here is general guidance

Punch in the appropriate part number into Ebay. You should be asking why the amp was removed, maybe there were/are other issues with the sound system.

 

If you have a system with Mark Levinson the amp is moved from under the front passenger seat to behind the cargo panel in rear left with subwoofer

 

i have gone thru many different sources for the pioneer amp - none of them appear to work. is there an aftermarket plug-n-play replacement? source please?

 

^ ... Pioneer ? if so, sounds like you have (had) an aftermarket (non-OEM) installed amplifier.

 

Hey LeX2K. I went to a lexus dealer and he confirmed the amplifier part # 86100-60240. I have tried several of these from various ebayers and none of them let me power up the radio. some of them appear to have the BT feature enabled in the touchscreen.

my 2012 is250c has a non ML system, but i don't dare take out its amp and put it into the GX460 for fear of blowing the amp.

anyone know if the CD player will at least load a CD even with a questionable amp? i can't get the cd player to load with the different amps, even though the amps doesn't appear to work.

i chatted with one of the techs at crutchfield. he believes he has a replacement solution for the pioneer amp issue but needs the following information:

location of each speaker including wattage and impedence and crossover frequency.

anyone have access to this info please?

 

While Crutchfield is good at what they do this sounds very excessive other than trying to up sake you to replace the speakers as well. The oe amp should tell them all they need to know. If you still insist on going alone it might be good to call some salvage yards to see what they might have.
