So I can't find this anywhere after looking through the parts diagrams and even contacting Bell Lexus. Thought someone might be able to help. There's a lower trim piece on the back of the 3rd row seats that folds down to cover the seat when they are laid down and maintains tension on the back of the seat with a spring mechanism when they are up. Basically forms part of the cargo floor when the seats are down. It has a little plastic hook that attaches to the spring to keep it taut on the seat. My wife took her vehicle to get detailed and they pulled on that thing and snapped the plastic hook. Trying to find a replacement and it isn't on the seat diagrams or the trim diagrams that I can find. Anyone dealt with this and know where I can find a replacement?
The black plastic circled in red is where the hook has snapped that attaches to the spring. I suspect I will have to buy the piece highlighted in yellow because the plastic has little rivets to connect it that I don't think I can pull. And yes, I know I need a cover for our dog issue. Working on that!
I recently picked up a 2023 premium plus and that plastic piece snapped off while the seat was going up. I'd say there was very little pressure applied while it was moving. I'm hoping there's some warranty we could get for it.
No, I don't think that's it. That piece looks much larger and there's no way this thing costs $500. The plastic hook is a terrible design. Might just have to drill through it and put a metal bar that attaches to the spring. It isn't visible, so I don't see much of a downside.
I'm hopeful that you can just get that small plastic piece, my worry is it only comes as part of the whole piece since it looks riveted on. BUT the problem is not worth a $500 fix for me.
Just wanted to report back the good news. My local socal dealer, South County Lexus, replaced the part under warranty.
My only other gripe right now is the a faint whining / grinding noise coming from the fan blower when it's on. Doesn't sound like something's stuck in there, just like it's loud computer case fan.
Was it done under warranty? Did you replace it with an OEM or aftermarket one?
I have a CPO, but the dealer guy said that it's normal. I did confirm that the blower is making the noise by removing the air filter and running the blower. It's not loud yet, but it's annoying for me since my head is in the perfect spot to hear it when I drive. If I sit in the passenger seat, I don't really hear it much.
