Haven't tried it offroad yet, but it does have a 'normal' setting in case I need to go back to factory feel.
Any negative effect on gas mileage?

I got mine in the mail and put it in.

Works as it should! I had one in my FJ Cruiser and once I had it set to where I liked it I never touched it again.

So I stuck this one behind the leather console bolster - If I ever really do want to make an adjustment in the future, I will simply pop it back off.

Did you notice a big difference using this? Any issues with the one you have installed in the other vehicle?

Yes, the larger throttle input sooner in the pedal press is a huge improvement on the GX. I was noticing how much I was having to push/ point my foot into the pedal (probably part due to how I sit)

On the FJC I never had an issue with the device.

is there a setting on any of these that will reduce the downshift when cruising and increase or at least not reduce response when pushing the pedal to the floor?
when I'm not towing and in hilly areas as soon as the GX hits the hill in cruise it way overcompensates and at the top of the hill I'm speeding by 30 mph, exactly right where the ops hiding below can catch me.
I'd like to have less cruise induces speed increase but still retain full or more power when flooring it.

If you don't find another solution, just pull the shifter to the left. That'll keep it out of both OD gears, which will keep it from hunting and overcompensating.

In my few weeks of ownership, I have found this throttle controler to 'smooth out' the gear shifts, particularly when on the highway and the transmission drops from 6 to 5 or 5 to 4. I suspect the throttle is slightly higher between each gear change, so the change isn't as abrupt as usual. The difference is subtle but noticeable. Overall I'm pretty happy with how the truck performs with this simple mod and plan on keeping it installed.

I haven't noticed any substantial change after adding a throttle controller set at the midrange setting. That said, I haven't gone crazy with lots of WOT runs. In fact, it's allowed me to use less throttle overall since the truck responds so quickly.
