Smile GX 460 decision and question

Hello GX owners and Lexus enthusiasts. I am new to this forum and hoping I will be making a GX460 purchase soon. I have couple of questions I would like to ask.

1) I am looking to purchase 2nd generation GX (2022 or 2023) model, mostly because everyone keeps saying the 1st gen interior is outdated and get the one with updated infotainment.
I have been looking at 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
2) The second row seats, is there a difference in recline angle between captain or bench seats. I will be doing many dirt road adventures with my 2 boys and Wife, so looking to see comfort level in 2nd row.

If you were in the market, which one would you get?
Thank you all in advance, excited to be part of this group and hopefully soon I will be discussing with you all the GX I acquire.

Welcome! I don't know if the updated infotainment is necessarily worth the extra $$. But if you're already tethered to carplay it just might be.

How old are the kiddos? If they still need booster seats the captains chairs won't matter much. The 60/40 split 2nd row seats are plenty comfortable and have heaters (or at least mine do). The recline is pretty good with the 60/40 2nd row all things considering. No complaints from my daughter on trips on mountain trails or long road trips. Not sure if that is helpful or not but I hope it is.

You can even split the bench into '40/20/40. So the middle 20 can be folded down independently. Its an SUV not a mini van - get the bench

I just have a 60/40 middle row on my '23.

The seat bottom is 60/40, the seatback is 40/20/40.

I would go with the Bench Seating. As mentioned, it's heated and can be split 40/20/40. I've owned two GX's, previously had a 2016 Premium and I now own a 2022 Premium Plus, in my opinion Bench Seat is the way to go! Good luck in your search and decision making.

Hello and thank you for reply. Just coming around these messages as I was out of town for work. The boys are 7 and 12, booster needed for maybe 1 more year so that is no big issue. Yes, this info will definitely help. I am scheduled for a test drive in a 2022 GX, the color that I think is the best looking for the bodylines (Atomic silver) with Rioja red interior bench seat. 7K miles and asking 49K. I will definitely reply here if I pull the plug

Yup, I am leaning on the bench seat option, it can always be folded down on one side if not needed. Thank you for the reply

Thank you for the reply and assurance. I decided to still keep my minivan and add GX for light off road experience.
