Out of necessity, I previously replaced both rear door handles on my 2011 GX 460. To be proactive, last week I ordered the exterior door handle for both the front driver and passenger door. I reviewed the video by GX*BOB on YouTube in preparation but became concerned that there may be a different process for the front vs. the back. Looking here and elsewhere, I don't see a front door-specific video or Thread. Can anyone confirm that the process for changing the front exterior door handles is the same as changing the back handles? While GX*BOB makes it look easy, there were times I struggled when replacing the back handles, so any insight is appreciated!
As the front doors are working, I assumed I needed only new handles. Is that true? Or do I need to return the handles I purchased for the much more expensive handles with sensors?
What part of the front door handle change out are you unsure of? Most of the difference revolves around the disconnection of the lock sensor and removal of the key piece on the drivers side. You do need different door handles for the front than the new back due to the touch sensors.
The processes are pretty much the same. As above member has said, the only extra steps you will need to do will be the disconnecting the sensor harness which is located at the front end of the handle after you released it from the position, and remove the key cylinder by disconnecting the locking rode. Other than those, they are essentially the same as to replace the rear door handle.
The whole "lock sensor" issue is what has me confused, as the one I purchased came without the sensor. My thinking was that as the current sensor works, all I would need is the handle itself. As I mentioned in my first post, I became concerned that I was about to begin the project without the correct parts, so I began to research this more, leading to my post. Perhaps I overthought it (a rarity for me)...
Attached is a picture of the handle I received from a reputable third-party vendor for the front driver's door. Do you know if this handle simply "goes over" the current sensor and key cylinder? Or do I need to purchase a different handle?
Again, I appreciate your willingness to help!

I have some experience with the key cylinder having replaced the actuator, so I think I am good there (why I didn't I replace the handle then?).
I purchased a driver's front handle from a third-party vendor, so I am confident that I have the correct handle, but the sensor issue has me a bit confused. Does the handle simply "go over" the current sensor and key cylinder? Or do I need to purchase a different handle?

Thanks again for your help!
unfortunately that you will need the handle with the build-in sensor to replace the front door handle. Sensor is not a replaceable part, nor it is inside key cylinder if that was what your concern and confusion, The handle that you have bought from third party does not appear that has the sensor. If you look the original handle, the front area where has the line of indent is where the built in sensor located.
