it doesnt really matter what we want to call it or if we disagree. as long as we can communicate what is being discussed its ok.

different suspension systems use air in various ways. all mfgs want to be able to throw in 'air suspension' because for many folks it is viewed as 'better'

anyways, the topic is rough ride. i agree with above in that it could be normalcy bias towards the old soft parts. maybe try lowering the psi to 30.
need to determine if you are more concerned with the road feedback for small things like gravel, cracks or you care more about big things like train tracks, potholes. you can have decent in both but as you get optimized for one you trade off on the other
The GX is an absolute conundrum for Lexus ... the RX is a unibody "Sedan" pretending to be an SUV ... a definition absolutely prostituted by marketers ... so consumers "upgrade" to the GX based on size and features ... but then incessantly complain about the ride not being "comfortable" or "smooth" or "compliant" or whatever. The GX is a truck based platform ... FACT ... so Lexus foisted an overly complex AVS system on the customers that believe the "Luxury" is worth the upcharge ... not knowing that the future shock replacement cost is criminal for what this system represents in terms of actual benefit ... and then Lexus emphasizes "Air Suspension" again as "marketing speak" when the only meaningful benefit is rear-end leveling. And then there are the posts that further support the above by recommending running the tires at 30-psi ... 2-psi below the Lexus recommended pressure which is too low to begin with. Maybe some past Ford Explorer research is in order here ... the moral ... cannot make a fundamental design be something different without (potentially dangerous) consequence.

Many posts on this forum where buyers drove the Premium and Luxury ... and could not tell the difference. To each his own ... for me ... I will not pay a premium on the purchase cost or for future maintenance for "marketing speak".

can go opposite also with stiffer springs.
the best in my opinion is a hydraulic system with a diaphragm accumulator and an electronic valve. then you have more control. this is a lot like (with respect to effect) the oem suspension setting switch but with more control over the end result.
Yes ... the French (Citroen) perfected the Hydraulic Suspension System ... but was never widely adopted. For me, the Toyota AVS shock system is always "nervous" ... constantly attempting to adjust to road conditions micro-seconds after the fact. There are conventional shocks that have valving that respond so close to real-time ... it's as if they are reading the road in advance ... for $100-150-odd per corner versus the criminal Lexus $750 per AVS shock cost.

LOL so first we should not go by what lexus says, cause they dont know about suspension. but now we should go by what they say, because they know tires.
best chuckle all day.
the lexus recommended pressure is for the tires that are also recommended. once you switch out tires it all changes. i think i run 38 on my aftermarkets and its a decent ride.
yes, lexus suspension is a huge overprice. similar to a few other areas. like the cabin air filter.
44 to 26 (ford) is a far cry from 32 to 30. but it is a good point to not run low without knowing the risks, especially at high heat or slip angles.
you can get a similar result with different tires. get less sidewall stiffness, more sidewall height, go from truck to car tires.
