Default Possible paint defect in new ‘23?

Hello all,

I just noticed what may look like a paint defect on my rear passenger side door (driver’s side). I realize I may be nitpicking but I just wanted to make sure this isn’t one of those things that could balloon into a bigger issue.

When I gently run my nail over it, there seems to be a slight catch. I live in Austin, TX so I’m not worried about salt corrosion.

Wanted to see if this is something worth addressing or not. The vehicle has 1,500mi on it.

Much appreciated!

Yeah, you can find defects on all of them. Not really going to get a perfect paint job on a car in this price range.

Oh ok! Thanks for your reply. That’s all I wanted to know if this was something that was uncommon but if it isn’t then I have no concern.

I've not noticed any paint issues like that at all on our 21' additional the Tahara plant is know for very hight quality standards all around including paint quality/inspections.

That’s a pretty bad one… I would ask lexus to fix it, but I’m a detail nut and like my cars pristine.

I won’t repair that unless it’s rust and gets worse. That metallic paint is hard to match and in my opinion you most likely would always be able to see the repair. I would note it with the dealer though.
