Getting winter tires installed and wondering how well the stock 4 tires would fit inside the GX. I'm thinking 3 in the cargo and one in the 2nd row seat, anyone done this? I'd like to keep at least one of the 2nd row bench seats down for my med sized dog while carrying a passenger in the front. It's a 130 mile drive to the the dealer, so not going to make two trips and wondering if I should go by myself instead of taking wife and dog (dog cannot stay home alone). In that case I would fold both the 2nd row seats down. Pictures would help if you have them, thanks.
This is my 4R with 5 tires in the back with the seats obviously down. The GX is very similar and I have put 5 tires in the back with seats down as well (just didn't take a pic). Four tires is easy...
Tire size were stock 265/70/17
And here is a different 4R with 4 tires in the 285/70/17 size plus suspension boxes. You won't have any issue getting your 4 OEM tires in the back of your GX.
You can fit four vertically in the rear with seats up, third down, of stock size no problem.
Thanks, that's what we did too. I also leaned the second row bench seat backs down against them to keep them from moving around and placed a pad between them and the rear door I tried the three stacked, but them being in plastic bags the top tire moved too much (worried about the rear window).
Really appreciate the help, was nice to bring the wife and our dog (reason for needing the second row seat in place) on the long drive to the dealership.
