#Rust Proof Planning ('23 GX)
BTW whoever said Woolwax doesn't smell is fooling themselves... I just did my vehicle in Fluid Film and my buddy did his with WW and they BOTH smell, just a different smell. WW smells like a wet dog (or sheep I suppose), while FF has a sweeter funkier smell. After experiencing both I'm not sure which I prefer. In any case, both odors will fade away in a couple of weeks.

But mostly I was referring to posts that claim WW doesn't smell and FF does. My point is they both do.
On my winter car each year I spray FF inside the frame rails and rocker panels the odor is quite powerful and lingers for two weeks. A curious thing about FF is if you treat a vehicle that has rubberized undercoating FF soaks in and clings like crazy. It greatly softens the undercoating and in some spots it will fall off. So a win on vehicles that have the rust magnet that is rubberized undercoating.

Odor preference is subjective, of course. I don't find that WW smells "way better" but YMMV. After smelling my buddies WW application as he was doing it, I questioned whether WW is worth the extra money for the short time you can actually smell it.

And I know you didn't read my posts very carefully because I absolutely did smell them side by side. To reiterate, I did FF on my GX and my buddy did WW on his LC200 in my driveway. I didn't find the smell of either material very enjoyable but yes they were quite different.
I know it's OT, but I can almost guarantee that some products aren't as effective or good as they could be because the smell was too offensive. Not saying that's the case with these products, but it's a real thing.
You want Fluid Film. Do a full treatment once then have the shop do a touch-up every other year (annually if you drive a lot in snow conditions in a salt state or are often on the sand).
I just set up the appointment for my new to me GX460 and had it done to my 04 LS430 and my current Tesla Model 3.
Its not just body /frame but fasteners and exposed metal parts of components that are more protected with fluid film.
I was quoted less than $300 for the initial spray for the GX. Touch-ups are probably a little more than half of that (it was $180 for initial and $100 for touch ups on my old LS430).
I tried to do my wife’s old RX350 myself with a half dozen FF spray cans, but couldn’t quite be as thorough as a shop with a lift and all of the compressor attachments and experience. I’d just leave it to the pros for the low cost of application.
