Default Air Suspension Relay

I have a problem and I can't seem to find any threads that would relate. My air bags had been leaking down for a few weeks so I found a set of OEM bags, got new lines and clicks from Lexus of Knoxville. A friend and I put them on this afternoon, no problems, everything went together like it is supposed to, but when we put it on the ground and fired it up the compressor didn't kick on. It worked just fine before we put the new bags in, so we started checking fuses and relays. All fuses are good but we found that the relay isn't clicking open and closed when the ride height button on the center console is flipped. We bypassed the relay with a jump wire to see if the compressor would kick on and it did and would air up the bags but as soon as it started to raise the rear something caused it to purge and release all the air. Any ideas? Hight control sensor? And before you suggest, yes I am looking at the coil over conversion as we speak.

Check the height sensors. They might have gotten loose, or the arm might be bent/out of position.

Reset ECU. After I replaced mine, the height control did not work. I had to reset ECU in order to get the new air bags work.

Can I ask, how did you reset the ECU? We took off the (-) cable from the battery. What else should I do?

This is taken from GX group on FB.... I hope this will help you.
There should be a video on youtube with this method also.

AIR BAG Replacement. After a Long day of trouble shooting I finally got my airbags to work, replacing the bags was a piece of cake if you have another set of hands, this was our 1st time and it took us about an hour to get everything taken off and put back in place, then it took us all day to trouble shoot why the compressor wouldn't come on, we checked the sensor and one of them was bottom out, adjusted the screw/bolt back to the center position, still didn't work, we checked all the fused still nothing, check voltage at the compressor got power, try resetting the ECU nothing, decided that the compressor was probably dead so called my bro-in-law to see if could come take his compressor off his GX and test it on mine, put his compressor on my car and nothing, we can hear the compressor clicking just like mine did but still nothing so we decided it wasn't the compressor and thought off all the things that could be wrong, finally after a long day started at 11 ended at 930 pm, my friend suggested that we should try to reset the ecu again and it finally work, if you have a Nav unit it will show you that you have finished resetting the ecu, well my car wasn't so it was hard to tell that's why we couldn't get it to work earlier when we try to reset the ecu, so this is what we finally figured out, the dash board will blink a sequence of OFF (the ride height) in 3 then 3 then 4 then 5 etc etc once you get to the point where the OFF just constantly keep blinking, that's when you know the ECU has been reset. turn the key to off, take the jumper clip out and start your car. First pic shows you how to jump the wires, turn the ignition to on and start pumping the break to reset the ecu, you will see the OFF indicator start to blink after a few pump on the brake, keep pumping till the ecu finished going trough the cycle. The pick tool was what we used to take off the airlines, just pry one side of the push lock and out it come, my make shift SST tool was worthless. Thanks to the all who chimed in on the suggestion to help me out..

Thanks for posting this, Lextazy! I’ve been riding around on the rubber bump stops for the past week or so because I couldn’t clear the ecu properly. This method worked and now my compressor and height level adjustment is functional again! I have the nav screen but it didn’t seem to help. Watching the ‘off’ light flashes were the ticket.
The air line disconnect tool I ordered just came in yesterday, too, so I’m hoping to do the air spring (air bag) replacements this weekend. Wish me luck!

I believe it's the same thing but, this also only takes seconds with the Techstream SW.

As per this pic, which I just took.

Did you end up getting them replaced this weekend. I have been out of pocket. If you haven't and you are near a Lexus dealer, make sure you get a new set of lines.

Yes! But I used the existing lines. They seemed to be in reasonably good shape. Bet those lines cost a few bucks.

$47 and $35 I believe. Not too bad considering they came from the dealer. Glad everything worked out for you.

No more hay wagon ride like I had before on the bump stops. The ride is back to being really really smooth. Thanks again for all of your help.
