I recently purchased a very clean 2003 GX470 with 73,000. I was fooling around in the car and noticed there is a illuminated "button" for rear camera. I can push the screen and get it to highlight or not.

My question is, can this be already wired for a back up camera and I am just needing an actual camera? Or, do all the Nav screens illuminate the rear camera "button"?

I have an 03 also and mine has an aftermarket back up camera installed and working. It comes on automatically when I put it in reverse. Works great.

OK, I found out some information on my "Button". Apparently, the rear view button is for the rear seat entertainment system, which I do not have.
I have ordered up a gateway to install, with an aftermarket rear camera to make this work.

I have a 03 also, I too need a back up cam, can you please post the info of which 1 you recommend? I have no idea when it comes to these components! Any thoughts and suggestions would really be appreciated! ALSO if you know about in vehicle dash cams, that would be great too! Just thought I would ask. I have a friend with a GX and he is driving Lyft, he asked me about a dash cam, I can install them, but have no idea when it comes to the product itself (just thought I would take a shot and ask that also) thank you!

I purchased a Naviks Gateway, it mounted under the passenger seat next to the Nav computer. I ran a camera wire from the tailgate to the Computer under the seat. Added a back up camera and wired it following the instructions.

I also did this with a Bluetooth gateway device. I have bluetooth and a back up camera. (two different gateways).
