Pole Position
premature fading of the rear side fendor
Given the age of the vehicle, not worth spending the money on repainting them.

I'll have to come back to this. I bought mine from the only owner, who had records going back to day one for everything. I haven't actually gone through them all other than to pick out the major ones like the radiator and timing belt. They are all logged with mileage, which is currently at 165k. I'l post the complete records later tonight.

Alternator @148k
CV boots (replaced both axles) last week
We love this rig. The GX is much a smoother ride than our 100 series Land Cruiser was. We loved that vehicle, owned it for 13 years an thought there couldn’t be a smoother rig that that one. Found out this one is better.

I bought my 2005 GX new. It now has about 75,000 miles on the odometer.
About 6 years ago, there was a leak in the AC refrigerant line. Replacing the fitting that was the source of the leak took care of that problem. The total cost of the repair, including re-charging the system, was under $200 at the local Toyota dealer.
Last year, I replaced the timing belt, water pump, etc and had the coolant flushed and replaced. Total cost of that work was around $700 at the Toyota dealer.
I got around 50,000 miles out of the original tires and replaced them with a little over 4/32" left on them. I'm now less than half way half way through the second set of tires. The original battery was replaced after 9 years. So, I'm about 4 years into its second battery. The original brake pads are still on the car, and they have plenty of pad left.
Otherwise, everything works on the vehicle and, other than normal maintenance, including oil changes, replacing the brake fluid, etc., no other repairs have been needed. About a year ago, I seriously considered selling the GX and replacing it with something smaller and more fuel efficient. Even though I know that I would appreciate some of the newer technology, when I thought about what a great vehicle the GX has been and how much money I would have to add to the value of the GX to get a new smaller SUV, I couldn't bring myself to part with the GX.

One of the front brake calipers developed a problem a few months ago and my dealer replaced it I still have a rattle coming from that wheel at slow speeds that I can hear when I have the window open, and the dealer has tried three times to fix that without success so far. After searching these forums, I'm pretty certain the rattle is caused by the the brake pads. The anti rattle clips must either be missing or not working properly. I'm taking it back in soon with recordings of the rattle to have them give the repair another go.
My GX has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, by far. The service provided by my dealer has been outstanding. After almost 14 years of Wisconsin driving my Lexus still runs, rides and looks like new.
