2008 with 144k

Radiator and it's getting a new dashboard as we speak.

I would only replace it with a 1st gen. I was given a 2017 or 2018 as a loaner and I do not like it.

147k

I purchased in Nov. 2016. At 133k miles.

Repairs: removed stripped drain plug on front diff, performed transfer case actuator o-ring replacement to stop the drip (it worked). Changed the fuse for the AC.

Got dash replaced free by Lexus, and also both wood trim pieces of two center vents.

Just put some rubber cement on weather stripping that was coming off under the chrome trim piece under the windows and hanging down

maintenance: oil changes m1 5w30, changed diff and transfer case fluid, grease driveaxle (cures the clunk) have not needed to do brakes yet

On my to do list: new tires (current Michelins cross terrains have dry rot and are fairly loud)
Replace under car shields which were zip tied to the frame when I got it (think theres a broken bolt but engine bay gets dirty)
smallish windshield crack (wiper arm slipped while replacing blade)

She is really bulletproof though. Never even seen the check engine light. Great in the snow. Not a single rattle in the interior. The short armrests suck though, have to lean on passenger one.

What year is your GX? 2003
MILEAGE on your GX today? 150K
What repairs has it required? Two light bulbs, replaced rear air bags with springs because one airbag was leaking down, repaired the HVAC actuator motor where the gear was slipping on the shaft, Lexus warrantied the cracked dash on the vehicle when it was 14(!) years old. The wheels are suffering the finish corrosion that many of them do, about to get them powder coated as soon as I get a chance to take them down to the local shop. Otherwise just routine maintenance.
What mods have you done to your GX if any? Recently installed 1" wheel spacers.
On a scale of 1-10 how much do you love it? 12 (perhaps my overall favorite vehicle of the 46 I've owned, and I'm a guy who only buys vehicles I really like)
Would you buy another GX? Absolutely, but only a 470. The 460 after several test drives feels like a Nissan to me so I'm not sure if I'd ever go that route.
Post a pic if you have one: Looks like all the other Ash Blue/dark gray 2003s (except for the wheel spacers)

2004, 159k.

I had to repair a lot of things the previous owner did badly, or not at all. Plus some age-related stuff.
Transfer case leak. CV boot (x2). Radiator. Door speaker & wiring. Nearly every interior switch lightbulb. Dash replaced under warranty enhancement program. Swap cheap Chinese aftermarket brakes for OEM. Swap cheap Chinese tires for Michelins. Driveshaft to fix "clunk"

Mods: VAISTECH USB module. New headlight assemblies. Frame-mounted trailer hitch.

Would I buy another? Yes. Although I keep watching the GX460 prices, in case this one gets totalled in an accident.

I’m also following the 460 prices closely. However, a 460 would be in addition, not a replacement to the 470.

I like all the neat newer stuff the 460s have. But I don't like the loss of cargo room from the fold-down 3rd row seats. I much prefer the "take them out and stash them in the garage until needed" seats of the 470.

I was given a 460 as a loaner (my dashboard is being replaced). I'm actually pretty disappointed with it.

I’ve driven several, I quite like them. We all have our opinions.

2008 GX470, Nav, non-KDSS
Mileage: Purchased 12/16 with 49,XXX, currently 64,XXX
Repairs: Driver's wheel bearing @ 50k, both front calipers @54k (seized), driver's bearing again @55k (said it was a defect), driver's rear caliper pins @58 (seized), both front 6x9 speakers @60k
Mods: Removed my running boards about a week ago and will be welding on a set of SSO sliders in a few weeks. Wheels and tires are up next.
I guess I'd have to say 8-9. I regret not buying a 100 Series every time I open the stupid barn door, but other than that, I love the GX. I'd buy another one, just not with tan interior.

A fully loaded 460 should feel like a 470. Remember that base 460s don’t have air suspension or wood trim or any of the nice touches we are used to in the 470. A fully loaded 460 should take care of that.

They do not feel the same at all to me. I do a lot of test-driving of vehicles and have driven 4 or 5 GX 460s in various trim levels and various year models. I wanted to like them and possibly get one in addition to the 470 or possibly to replace it, but I just couldn't (ended up going with a 570 in order to get a truck that I admired enough to buy). The 460 to me has a feel on the road that isn't very similar to the 470, reminds me of a Nissan truck, not a Lexus. I just like how the engine, transmission, brakes modulate and interact on the 470. I also like the steering feel, the driving position and the seats. More subjectively the interior of the 460 looks to me like it has a thin veneer of pseudo-luxury (like so many makers are doing now -- many are doing things like plastic that's painted to look like metal, "stitching" that's molded into dash plastic, cheap-feeling switch gear, etc.) that I don't care for as much as the more rugged/utilitarian/old-school 470 look.

Those are just my perceptions and preferences, though. Others may feel differently or value different things more highly.
