i have 2004 GX470 and my backup camera went out and dealer wants $1400 to replace. I looked on eBay at used ones and they run $350-400. I can get a new one for about $600. Anybody put an aftermarket one on their GX? I'm looking for recommendations.

I'm interested in this also because I'd like to get one w/ the idiot lines on there. I know they won't bend/turn like the new cars do, but I do like having the measurement lines as a reference. I've added rear cams to my other two rides (Mustang GT, Focus ST) so I know the cam really is an independent piece of hardware and I have to believe it can be swapped with an aftermarket.

The only issue is whether or not the cam is the actual culprit in your case. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot the cam past checking for a video signal & power being sent to the cam. It'd be a lot easier to check if you could sub a cheaper aftermarket cam...
