Default Aftermarket Front Camera

Hi,

I just purchased a 2015 Rx350, I was wondering if anyone can recommend an aftermarket front camera that can be installed? I checked beat sonic but they only have cameras for 2016 and newer. Thanks for the help!

Congratulations on your purchase..

There're a few threads discussing the camera connection and whether it should be power-supplied full time or only when the engine is running.

Now a days, the market is offering quite a bit of selection with different features. You need to answer a few questions for yourself first:
  • Do you want the camera to be powered even when the engine is off? If yes, do you want to keep recording 24/7 or only when the camera detects an impact/loud noise?
  • Are you looking for front + rear cameras?
  • Are you planning to DIY?
  • Are you aware that all dash cams record within loops? For example 3mins videos and repeat on? Once the SD card is full, it will start overwriting the old stuff.
  • Do you require a GPS-featured camera?
  • Do you care about wi-fi connection to stream your videos to your mobile without taking out the card?
I've got my own experience with cameras and I've already searched, purchased and installed mine and enjoying it so far. I might not have all the answers but I can tell you now that any camera can and will connect successfully to the vehicle system. Features is what makes all the difference.

Welcome to the club and Congratulations again on your purchase..

Cheers ..

I think he is referring to front cameras like the HS250h (and possibly others) had as an option. One that helps you park and shows you what is in front of you.

Yeah, I know what a dash cam is as I've had several over the years. I am pretty sure that is NOT what the OP was asking for. I could be wrong, but OP has done us no favors by not coming back to the thread.

I don't know if it's appropriate to share commercial brands on the forum

why wouldn't it be, everyone writes about which brand of tires they use

Advertising is only allowed by sponsors.

If any one gets payed (cash or form) for a post that is again not allowed.

Opinions (good/bad) are OK as long as they remain civil and the forum is not used as a broadcast point [there is a fine line].
