I know there are lots of posts on this, they are old however and allot of parts and technology has come about,

I am ready to replace my 2008 Lexus GX suspension with an Arnott suspension replacement. 2 coils and 4 shocks, the whole deal.

Has anyone done the same?

Are you happy with the decision to do so, and would you suggest anything for a guy who is ready to take the plunge.

Let me know if you want all four Arnott shocks for a great price. I have all 4 plus the springs for the front. I took them off my truck after approximately 20K miles because I wanted a softer ride. These ride a bit firm which makes for great handling but depending on where you live they may be too firm. I live in the Northeast where the roads are more like off road trails lol.

If you decide to go with a small lift check out ironman4x4 2" lift from metal tech. I installed it on Monday and am extremely impressed. Rides way better then stock.

​​​​​​​how do you get rid of the height warning lights that people say come up after you take out yhe adjustable shocks?

​​​​​​​I actually didn't have any warning lights? I was fully expecting to. There's is some info o. What relays/fuses to pull if it does.

The Arnotts are just Bilstein 4100s that supposedly are valved for the gx. That is debateable though as noone has been able to get a definitive answer from Arnott and most likely they are not specially valved and you pay 2x the price for a regular 4100 (i.e. a complete ripoff job).

​​​​​​​I went with Monroe quickstrut fronts and 4runner rears. Do some searching and you will find a few threads related to this setup. It is pretty good and probably closer to OEM vs the Bilsteins.

We had this conversation few weeks ago. I ended up going with TOYOTA 4runner front and back OEM, and kept the spring. If I were to do it over again I would go with what new2005gx said. Only reason is you dont have to fool around with swapping spring. Check my post from last few weeks on the same subject. I like my ride quality, slightly on sport mode side. However, the truck feels in control and doesnt want to do a dance at every turn (body roll)

I just did this and am very happy with it. Used the Arnott coil conversion kit, and went with Bilstein 5100s front and back. I also swapped the front springs (Moog) and mounts (KYB).

To get rid of the blinking ride height light, just pull the TEMS fuse, which is in the dashboard fuse box.

i have read a Ton of posts about the GX suspension which has been very helpful. My GX is an 08 with 90 k on it. Mostly city miles. Air system seem fine but I am just noticing a bit of a sloppy ride; especially in the rear when I was recently a passenger. My sense is that The struts are starting to wear and that if replace them soon I could avoid excessive wear ofvthe air system; prolong its life and enjoy a better ride now. The Toyota OEM 4 runner shocks seem to be the best route for price and a match closest to the original equipment. Should I be looking for OEM Toyota 4 runner struts that fit a 2008 4 runner? Also did I read correctly that the air in the rear and variable valve adjust ride in the front: sport / luxury will all work as they do now with Lexus struts? Thanks
