Default Mileage Recommendation

Hey guys, I'm kinda torn what to do right now and wanted to ask you guys who have done it for recommendation. Our GX recently hit 100k mark and it drives really great. The only thing we've replaced so far since 3 years of ownership was the radiator at 70k miles when it developing a leak after doing a couple of medium off-road trails, and spark plug tuneup at 90k miles. I've always set myself to do the entire timing belt, water pump, tranny, transfer case and gear fluid/oil, etc. at 100k miles. But after talking to a few people who have owned Toyota's with similar engines, I got convince not to do all of it just yet, and just the timing belt itself. I'd like to get a second opinion from guys who have pushed it. How many miles did y'all do the timing belt? Did you do it with the other stuff mentioned above? If not, were there any side effects like coolant leak from the water pump or such? I'd just hate somebody to get in there, and a short while later have it torn apart again... Thanks in advance and its greatly appreciated! Photos for attention, LOL.

Here are my thoughts. I went ahead and did all the maintainence you mentioned above at 60k...I have an 04 GX. The "old" belt looked basically brand new and all the fluids looked good when replaced with exception of the transmission fluid. The cost is so cheap to replace the fluids and it is an easy DIY but somewhat time consuming process. The timing belt and water pump are doable but much more involved. You could buy a timing belt kit and have a local independent mechanic install it for a few hundred bucks. If the belt fails or tranny or any one of those components fails that you replaced the fluid then it is going to be way more costly to fix then the amount you spent on the all the fluid and labor associated with the timing belt replaced. You have a car with 100k miles maintenance like this is a needed thing for the truck to keep running as smooth and as trouble free as it does, This is good kit from Amazon that you could buy and have a local mechanic put in: https://www.amazon.com/go/product/B0...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Seeing as you have an 08 I would feel more comfortable pushing back it because all of that stuff is newer. Now if you had an 03 it would have another 5 years of age and I would want to get it all done. Its really up to you and your peace of mind when the cost of worrying about it exceeds the price to have it all done. I think I remember reading of a member who had 300k+ before he did his but it looked really rough. I would never take that much of a risk.
