Default recalls

So you guys are having trouble getting the recalls fixed? Hmm. I took mine in for the 5k service and the only thing they didnt fix was the sticker (didnt have it in stock). They fixed the air suspension and the rear seat - and washed it and shampooed the carpets (they got them dirty last time.)

Is anyone else having trouble with the recalls? ANd whats the story on the supposed airbag recall? I cant find any info on this.

Exclamation

The cluck sound usually happens when one comes to a complete stop and release the brake pedal slightly. This noise comes from the end of the drive shaft going back in to the tranfercase. When you apply the brakes the rear live axel rotate slightly foward, pulling the end of the drive shaft slightly out of the transfercase. As one release the pedal slightly, the axel rotate back to the original possition thus re-inserting the end of the shaft back into the transfercase. This area is already lubricated from factory but these are new suv's so it may take a while for the grease to reach every area . Next time you take your truck for service as the master tech, I'm sure he will concurred .

Hello everyone, just got my GX 3 weeks ago and I have 600 mi now. I did notice that clunking sound right after you release the brakes the first 300mi, but not everytime tough. I'll complain about it when I go to my first free oil change.

Had the clunk repaired yesterday. The local techs called Lexus, removed the drive shafts, drained one of the fluids (AT I tink). lubed the splines, replaced the shaft and refilled the fuild to the exact amount required by Lexus.

With about 20 miles of testing, the clunk is gone. Lets see if the fix lasts for longer.

I never considered it a defect, but just part of the car. I too when I first felt it thought i was rear-ended. LOL

The clunk is back after 100 miles. I am starting to think this car will never make 10,000 miles.

Default Same here

got mine last Friday, same thing on the clunking...it almost feels like the differentials are trying to synch up or something. Not really concerned, but it is somewhat noticeable.

It did come back to a much lesser extent on my GX. Before the drive shaft replacement it was every time. Now it is just a couple of times a day and not nearly as hard. I am waiting a thousand miles or so to see if it get worst before returning to the dealer.
