Default What's the Best Way to Rust-Proof My GX

I recently bought an 06 GX470 and was wondering what treat the rust under the car and also prevent future rusting. I am in Queens NY and the winter will be here soon so I wanted to get the car ready before they start slating the roads.

Any suggestions?

Check out por15 and Chassis Saver. They work the same. Another product is Fluid Film though reapplying is needed for ultimate rust protection.

i know they exist and you'll have to search for them online but rust is an anodic/cathodic reaction and you can mount small metal pieces to the frame that will rust instead of your car. classic car collectors use them so their cars never rust. they are used on bridges and boats also. should be easy to find

if you recently bought the car from the area, that probably means that it has already seen 9 yrs of winters meaning your undercarriage has already been exposed to salt... besides stripping everything down and coating it, why not just stay on top of washing it after a snow storm...

You might look for a detail shop in that area that can do a couple of things. 1. Underneath Full Steam Clean and Dry

2. You need a quartz coat like 22ple or CG Quartz that a good detail shop can apply. That will help your roof and exterior not only look awesome but give it that extra protection it needs on those harsh months. You might check out Ammo NYC or Chemical Guys both of those shops do awesome detail work.

I have used 3M Rubberized Undercoating just before 2013 winter on my ES and GX. It's still holding up very well. Easy to apply. Both cars are daily drivers and have seen the worst winters last two years!.
