So I installed the 3rd row center headrest for my GX but please tell me this isnt right. No way its suppossed to look this hokey, is it?

LOL - I've never installed mine... in fact my 3rd row is in the bottom row of my house collecting dust. Anyhow, the typical size occupants who can fit back there comfortably don't need the headrest... at least not that tall of one. So it won't look as bad if you push it down all the way...

Yeah that's what I thought. So unless I'm severely mentally deficient, a distinct possibility mind you, something don't smell right. Is this really what it's supposed to look like installed?

Yes, it is. Didn't you start a thread about selling the third row seats because you have no need for them? Why did you buy the GX?

As I recall, just about everyone that replied to that thread either never used their 3rd row either or had also sold theirs. I wonder, is that ok with you or are we all now in danger of losing our right to own our trucks as we don't fit your right to buy criteria?

Always happy to hear from new GX owners. Looking at the manual or searching the forum (many times the questions have been asked and answered). One could even "google" for pictures of the 3rd row seats to see that "this can't be right, can it"? is the way Lexus designed it.

I have the third row seats, but I did have the center head rest which stores in the back of the seat (see video). I would leave it stored, unless you have an adult in that area. You are right, looks really strange and blocks your rear view.

Here's a question.

Why is there a center headrest in the back seat? Granted, I haven't looked in a while, but I don't recall seeing a third seatbelt.

There is a 3rd belt. It's in the roof.

Gotcha. Guess one doesn't notice that when they've never used the third row...

I'll never use it either. Noticed it yesterday while installing a new cargo net.
