Default Air suspension replacement question

How many of you folks have ditched the expensive air suspension and switched to the more reliable and cheaper OME suspension that sleeoffroad supplies for the 4th generation 4Runner. It seems to be a no brainer.

Judging by the rush of responses - not many...

If you do a search for suspension, I believe there are a couple of threads on this subject. I think most people may not be experiencing any problems. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

You have to ask yourself a couple questions. Do you use or need this system? Does the cost of the repair exceed the cost of a complete replacement. If you wanted to install a compatible aftermarket system it would cost over $3000. This is a very elaborate and integrated system and is probably more reliable then any aftermarket system. I've had this system since 2005 and now in my new GX and had no problems. I use and absolutely could not live without. I tow a travel trailer and load up the back of the vehicle on a regular basis. Having the ability to adjust the height of the vehicle and the trailer by four inches when attaching trailer and clearing driveways/obstacles is worth its weight in gold. Also having a suspension that automatically levels with cargo and/or added tongue weight makes such a difference in the overall ride and performance of the vehicle. Air-spings instead steel springs alone make a big difference in the ride even without added weight (smoother).

Looks like someone in the Second Gen GX Forum has some options:

Per ShawShank on comment #3 of that thread, it doesn't work on with vehicles with AHC.
