maintenance required light
Recently a message on my Nav screen popped up saying I need to change the oil and such. I pressed the don't show again button and now the light on the dash has lit up. I reset the values in the nav software but the light on the dash doesn't reset.
My question is are these two events related?
does this light indicate a real issue?
How do you reset the light besides disconnecting the battery which i am reluctant to do.

Thay are both just oil change / maintenance reminders, to reset the light on your dash, do the following:
Turn car to the 'ON' position in the ignition
Cycle through the Odometer so that you are on Total miles, not Trip A or B.
Turn car off
Hold in Odometer button while turning car back to ON.
Keep holding until the Maintenance light flashes and then goes off for good.

The maintenance reminders in the Nav system can be set by you. You can go into the setup screen and find them and change them to whatever values (miles or date) you want for various things. You can also turn them off.
The ones in the dash are built in. I believe it only comes on at certain milages related to scheduled maintenance points.

I'm going to try this. My maintenance indicator light is still on and I just had my oil changed.
