Default Lookin to buy 05 or 06 In socal. Help

My current car is 04 BMW M3. Yes it is fun, yes it has a lot of aftermarket parts, and yes... there is nothing like it as far as performance/fun factor. But... it is killing me on dailty commute. I get very tired. Esp coming back from work. You guys know how it is in socal here... traffic is bad.. my 15 mile one way commute is 40-45 min. esp coming back from work.

Anyways, i was looking at the GX470 breifly before i bought the M3. Now i am returning back to my first choice. I had to get the M3 "facotr" out of my system and never regret.

I am looking for
05 Merdian Blue/Dark Grey Int
OR
06 Nautical Blue/Dark Grey INt.

Both with Nav/3rd row (i dont really need this but oh well), and possibly KDSS (if i can find one)

Seems like i can get bigger discount on 05. People in ohter state are getting 47k-48k ish before tax with similar options ( w/o KDSS) so i figure... i have to shoot around 49-50k for mine.

I am not in a hurry, i am willing to wait until i find the best deal here in socal.. say end of the month or last week of the month??

If i trade in my car, i know i will lose around 3-4k on my M3. SO.... that must go privately....
Also, what kind of interest rate are u guys getting. I have FICA score of around 760, plan to down around 20k...

THanks guys..

David

Default Consider gas mileage for GX as daily commuter!

I love our `04 GX470! I also love my `04 SC430! However, gas prices here in the D.C. area have caused me to reconsider what I drive as a daily commuter. I still own the GX and SC, but recently purchased an `05.5 Audi A4 2.0T as my to/from home/work car. My wife still drives the GX as her daily driver mainly because she has a much shorter commute. Instead of filling up every week, as I did with the SC, I now make a trip to the gas pump only once every two weeks.

thanks for the reply Steve.

Leslie: Wow.. once every 2 weeks?? here in socal... i need to fil up every 5-7 days here...

My 04 BMW m3 isnt great either.. so that's why i have considered SUV at this point.. at most.. il be using extra 100 bucks or so every month.. THat is totaly ok to be... if im concerned about gas.. i would get toyota prius....

HI kormaster.
Where in socal are you? We can meet up if you're local.

I leased mine since 01/05, everything except sports package and the dvd player, for $47,200.
$1500 down and $648/month for 36 months, 12k per year.
The way how gas is going, you should be getting a bettter deal.

If you've been in an M3, maybe you might want to opt for the sports package with the kdss

Good luck, let us know what you pick

I live in buena park, but im in Irvine/Tustin a lot due to my girlfriend. I havent driven a GX with KDSS... a lot of saleman tells me it isnt worth the price since KDSS comes with RSES... you cannont seperate that.. that's around 3k increase. Plus i do not think they are willing to negotiate aggressively with cars equiped with sports package.

Ive gotten as low as 46325 from Cerritos with nav/ML audio stuff... what do you guys think??

Im going to Tustin Lexus this weekend to test drive KDSS equipped car. But realistically... ill probably buy the one without it KDSS.

Silver/grey int

OR

Ash Blue/Int

I want the roof spoiler and gonna ask the dealer to get me michellin tires... im gonna make that a deal breaker... if they dont give me those, im getting up

What else could i ask for o complete the deal??? Weather rubber mats?? License plate frame that says GX470? hmm keychain... what else guys??

In my opinion, you should ask for:

1. All weather mats
2. Chrome exhaust tip (if not on the vehicle already)
3. 10k service

This is what I got last year on my '04.

You may also want to consider the cargo tray. Lexus just introduced it a few months ago for the GX, so I didn't have that option when I bought. I bought the Weathertech mat and actually like it better than the factory one.

Just to be clear, there is no required tie between KDSS and RSES. You can order one without the other (and wait) or force your dealer to do a search on inbound and inventory.

In general it is very hard to find KDSS without being a Sport package. But right now on Build Your Lexus in my region, they are showing a number of Sport package (includes KDSS) without RSES.

However, I understand how this might undermind your bargaining position.

Thanks for the info guys!!

Ok.. Cerritos dealer in socal offered 50470 out the door for 05 pine silver/grey with nav/ML audio

I assume 06 is about 2000 more after tax and license?? is it worth it??? Ti silver is abit lighter and loks cleaner.. DILEMA!!!

im definately asking for weather mats, 10k service.

Now is michellin tire a must?? i noticed a lot of them have dunlops which i read to be crappy tires... make this a deal breaker and be a tough buyer??

You're welcome! Glad you mentioned the Michelins... I forgot to say that.

I did ask them to swap tires with another GX if mine didn't have the Michelins, and they agreed. I haven't seen any '05s or late '04s without Michelins, though I could be wrong. But in any case, you should definitely ask. Big difference...

What dealer? Sounds nice. How does the Ti metallic compare to the Pine Metallic? I can't wait to see pics.

Has anybody seen the GX470 with the sport package on the dealer lots? They seem to be rare for some reason.

when i saw TI silver vx Pine silver.. i thought Ti silver was lighter bright silver.... and pine was darker less brillian silver...

i chose 06 due to only saving about 1150 after tax vs 05 model....

I didnt want the rear DVD thus couldnt get KDSS. I will use that money i saved for some nice big wheels.
