Does this look bad? It's 3 hours away so I have not looked in person yet. It's an 08 with clean Carfax, one owner. The dealership is asking $16.9k. 136k miles.

 

It's been painted/coated at some point, hard to tell what's going on beneath from your pics. Best inspected in person.

 

Yea, with the paint or coating, it is hard to tell the level of rust. You will need to take a poker and see if it is just surface rust or if it is deeper and structurally unsound. Are there (PPI) inspection services around there that can perform a PPI at a cheaper cost than the time and gas to go look at it?

 

Christ, did seller take pics with a Razor flip phone? It was probably intentional so you won’t be able to clearly make out the true condition. Looks covered up rust to me.
