Just wondering how many people are like myself and are still waiting for their $1K recall debit card to arrive. I know some people started getting them in August. Thanks.
I was offered $1K credit and the buy back was never mentioned but I smelled something fishy for the $1K credit being offered to owners who don't even use their GX for business. So I called Lexus. All I was asked is to send a copy of the GX's title and sale contract which I spent about 5 minutes to prepare. 3 days later, I received the buy back agreement from Lexus via FedEx.
Actually, Lexus CS is the reason that I ordered another 04 GX.
I would not say 5 minutes is a lot of time.
For owners are still waiting for the $1K credit, why don't you give buy back/trade a try. The GX 470 model 9700B with 6150 GVWR is out.
I asked my dealer about the credit a couple weeks back. He said they would be submitting for the paperwork, and would get back to me. I'll have to keep pushing I guess.
Since I started this thread awhile back, I thought I'd report back that my "gift card" arrived today...finally! About 8 months after the $1K gift card was first mentioned, and some 6 follow-up calls to my dealer and the Lexus 800 number, it arrives. In my opinion, they have completely undone any goodwill they were trying to achieve by offering this thing in the first place. I'm angrier with them now for my lost time of telephone tag follow-up calls than I was with any of the recall issues back then.
So, I figure, my Lexus Link expires this month and I'd like to keep the basic level of service, so I try to use my new "gift card" to buy another year. Nope. Can't use it for that. Huh? Only for goods and services at the dealer. Stupid. By the way, if you love the "The Lexus Link system is active" message on startup, just wait until you have to hear "The Lexus Link system is not active. To activate your Lexus Link system, press the services button" everytime you start your car. Also, maybe it is just me, but I can't seem to completely mute this message with the volume control like I could when I did subscribe...figures that they'd make the sales pitch non-mutable?
As much as I really want to love this truck, Lexus seems to find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I received better customer sevice from Ford with my Explorer.
I finally got the recall notice in the mail last week. It said to notifiy the Service Advisor so they could pre-order the new label. What a crock!!! I bet it'll be a couple more months before the book is closed on this.
FYI, check your owner's guide, there is a fuse under the hood that is just for the LEXUS link, if you no longer subscribe, pull the fuse and no more message!!
