I have a 2004 GX470 with stock rims, wife has a 2017 GX460 with the same, 18's instead of 17's. I was going to get some new wheels an off-road tires, but she wants new ones for hers. My question to the group is should I take hers and put them on mine or sell hers separately to get what I actually wanted. Size is the biggest issue in my mind, I would rather stick with the 17's and have off-road flexibility, not really interesting in shaving anything off for the tires, but hers are definitely an upgrade. Keep hers, slap them on a save a nickel or three or go with the original plan and outfit the 2004 with new 17's. Picture of hers.
They'll fit, but they'll be a disappointment if you were wanting aftermarket wheels on the 470. It feels like you're asking if you or your wife should get what you want, lol.
Funny, my wife and I have recently had the same discussion. I have a 06 and my wife has a 11. Mine is 17 and hers is 18. I find way more choices of tires available for 17 than 18 inch wheels. At least in all terrain tires. We searched forums, looked at pics, looked at Discount tire and in the end. We both said we will just keep the wheels we have. Neither of us are excited about the style available and the wheels cost quite a bit. My 06 is used for camping trips and trails/forest roads so if I scratch my wheels I wont get upset.
As mentioned I have gone back and forth on this many times. I just ordered 17 inch trd wheels in dark grey. I dont have them on yet but I reaaly like the look.
Thats the wheels I got. Dark grey and black lettering. Now I am having an issue on weather to put them on the 470 or the 460. I ordered black lug nut also. They are the same width as my factory wheels but have about 3/4 more offset.
