I bought a new oem seal, and had a local garage change it 3 months ago and it still leaks, bad. Could it be the bearing in the case causing this? Is it the housing? There is some play, about 5 thousands in the shaft up and down. I can do it myself, but I was just being lazy, and I paid them $200 to change the seal. Did they put it in wrong? thanks

 

Take it back and ask them to take a look.

They said take it to a dealer because of the 'play' in the shaft. The dealer wanted $110 just to look at it. I think I'm going to buy a used 103k carrier for $125 and go that route.
